Every model available for your use can be found in the Model Registry. This includes all platform-defined models and all custom models defined by your organization.

The Model Registry Page

Upon clicking Model Registry in the sidebar, you’re presented with the main Model Registry page: The Model Registry page At the top of the list are features to filter and search the list:
  • The left-hand popup lets you filter by Newton model family.
  • The right-hand popup lets you filter by scope (that is, whether the model is platform-defined or organization-defined).
  • At the right side of the page is a search box to let you search for specific models by name.
Below this is the list of models, with the following columns: The list is sorted in reverse chronological order; that is, the most recently created model is listed first.

Viewing Model Details

To see more details about a particular model, click on it in the model list. This will open a model details dialog that describes the model. Base models (those that aren’t fine-tuned versions of other models) look like this: A platform model dialog In addition to displaying the model’s name and description, a badge indicates that this is a platform model. Below that, a table provides the following information in its simplest form:
  • The model family.
  • The model’s creation date.
  • The model ID, starting with mdl_.
Other models, especially those created using fine-tuning, have more information: A more detailed model dialog Here, in addition to the information included in the simpler model details dialog, is listed the following additional information:
  • The inheritance of the model; that is, a log of each generation of parent model and the fine-tuning checkpoint ID used to create the model. This goes back as many generations as it takes to reach a base model. Each generation records:
    • The name of the parent model from which the examined model was generated.
    • The fine-tuning checkpoint ID used to generate the model.
    • The model ID of the parent model.
  • The hyperparameters associated with the model, if any.
  • Any metrics associated with the model.
